Privacy policy
The Sage apps collect nothing about you. Here is exactly what that means.
Last updated 15 October 2026. This policy covers Swim Sage for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro, its iMessage extension, and this website. The Sage apps are made by Seamus Waldron.
The short version
Swim Sage reads your swims from Apple Health on your device and works everything out there. The developer receives nothing: no Health data, no usage data, no account. There is no server, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and the app contains no third-party code.
What Swim Sage reads
With your permission, Swim Sage reads your swimming workouts from Apple Health: their times, distance, lengths, strokes, stroke style and heart rate. On Apple Watch it records the swims you start in it and saves them to Apple Health, as Apple's Workout app does. It writes nothing else to Health. You can change what it may read at any time in the Health app: your profile, then Apps, then Swim Sage.
Where it stays
Everything Swim Sage reads or works out stays on your device. The corrections, targets and challenges you make are stored in the app on your device. Deleting the app deletes them; Settings in the app can also delete them.
What you choose to send
- Messages. If you share a swim or a challenge through Messages, the fields you select are sent to the people in that conversation, as any message is. Nothing is sent automatically.
- Sync with nearby device. If you pair your own devices, your corrections, targets and challenges (never Health data) go directly between them on your local network, encrypted end to end, only when you tap Sync. Nothing goes through the internet or iCloud.
- Apple Watch. Your iPhone sends your targets to your Watch, and your Watch sends back the target you chose for a swim, through Apple's own connection between them.
- Export. If you export your swims, the file goes where you put it.
Questions you ask
Typed and spoken questions are understood on your device, by Apple's on-device speech recognition and language model. They are not sent anywhere.
This website
This website sets no cookies, keeps nothing in your browser and runs no analytics or advertising. Every file it uses, its scripts and its 3D pool model included, is served from this site: it loads nothing from anyone else. It is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles the technical details of each request (such as your IP address) to deliver the page; see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
The Sage apps collect nothing from anyone, children included.
